Episode for "KKuang-KKuang Namu"

Hello again, this is DJ, Mi Hyun Kim

I'm sorry being late for the second episode.
There was heavy rain on last weekend and I'm wondering
that all of you had a good days.

This corner is about some research scientist who work in KIST.
And  I'll interview them and you can read the story through this corner.

From now on, I'll introduce each of "our scientists" and show
what kind of their color and style of music to you.

First, I'll introduce
Lee, Joong-Ho from HumanOcentered Interaction & Robotics Research Center
and Shin, Sung Yul from Center for Bionics

Both of them are quite professional.
They are actually working in the band.
The name of band is "KKuang-KKuang Namu(Box-Leaved Holly)"

Do you know Box-Leaved Holly actually exists?

As you can see the first picture, Box-Leaved Holly looks like this.
It can grow up to 3 meters.
And the next picture, you can see flower of it,
and the language of flower is "It can endure."

Because its thick leaves make sounds like "KKuang-KKuang"
it named KKuang-KKuang Namu.
It has something to do its name, isn't it?

If you listen to their music concerning that, you can feel more beyond music.

Band "KKuang-KKuang Namu" consists of four members and among them
Lee, Joong-Ho plays guitar and Shin, Sung Yul beats the drum.

They manage from lyric making, composition to making music videos
and even sometimes learn something by themselves.
Through these acts, I can feel their enthusiasm.

Their major interests are originality and communication.

Because of their purpose, they play impromptu music on the stage
and make songs by receiving the letter through their home page.
And they collect the letters and put finishing touches on songs
and release third album on the middle of July.

KKuang-KKuang Namu's music is full of recitation covered with rock music.

Those songs are like a hand writing letter full of sincerity.

Those are not just an instant songs
that people just make with their up and down feelings but heartfelt ones
which could be given to their friends, daughters and lovers.

Through the song, "You can do it" as I about to introduce,
you can feel their earnest.

This is for Lee, Joong-Ho's cheering song for his first child.

It really did helped him and his family in their tough time.
Hearing his story, I was so much touched.

In fact, I only worked at administration department,
so I hardly have chances to communicate with scientists.

"Working as an scientist." It is literally they are real scientists.

Scientists! I only could imagine that word in my childhood.

For me, who have sort of fantasy for scientist, I cannot help but tremble for that.

And thank you for giving me a shot to have this trembling experience
and Lee, Joong-Ho and Shin, Sung Yul's kind and interesting words
during the interview.
