<That Man's Music - Episode for a "Treasure-hunt Game">

Hello everyone, This is DJ, Mi-Hyun Kim.

The weather turned chilly these days, and I'm wondering all of you are doing fine.

This is the third time of "That Man's Music."

It's been almost six months to write about articles in KISTory.

I know it could be a cliche, but indeed, time goes so fast, it's always flying.

And that means, perhaps those things,

like interviewing "Musicians" in Kist, are giving me a joy.

I thought about the "Musician" in the corner of "That Man's Music" in this time.
And I guess he could feel almost the same feelings like me and us.

Since he has been doing his career as a musician

and the researching at the same time,

he might think "Oh, time really goes fly!"

This time, in "That Man's Music",

I would like to introduce researcher,

Woo Jun Sung in WCI.

He said that his hobby is to play the piano.

I think it's the most frequent answer when people are asked

why they learned how to play the piano,

"As a recommendation or suggestion of mother."

He also started to learn playing the piano exactly the same reason

as many people since he was an elementary school student.

And now he is playing the accompaniment in the church, and also a violin duet.

And kindly enough, he also plays the instruments at the ceremony

of every KIST anniversary of opening.

And lately he got married, and his wife's major was violin.

He plays the violin duet at the ceremony of the church and other events.

Isn't it so romantic that husband and wife play together

the violin and the piano as a duet or something like that.

I envy them for they can communicate through the same subject of music.

It's like, I think, they have their own language to communicate and feel sympathy,
even more, for both of them music could be another additional sensory organ.

For both of them, I guess, music could be the secret code or communion.

Through this, they can share each other's feeling.

He said that they could be more intimate because of the music.

Although it's not so famous but both of them like the classical music.

Furthermore thanks to that connection between them,

they could share their own taste of music.

And that's wonderful knot for them.

Researcher, Woo Jun Sung's music is like playing a Treasure-hunt Game.

Do you have any memory of playing the treasure-hunt game?

I felt my heart throbbing finding and searching for the treasures

where I never expected to find treasurers.

When I played the treasure-hunt game I left the desire

if I hadn't find the treasure simultaneously.

Besides those feelings, do you remember how much fun

did you have with your friends? And the laughs…….

I think performance that researcher, Woo Jun Sung are performing,

music and the piano is like playing the treasure-hunt game.

Because, at first, I might feel hard, wander and even helpless,
but as soon as I find the direction,
I could feel the joy and satisfaction and it is related to each other.

I don't know where the treasure is.

And it's similar to his music, as I can find any hints in his scores.

If I add more words, classical Piano is like a cake.

I bake the "notes" in so called "scores" and sprinkle the feeling,

emotions based on the practices.

The bread within the cake could be similar to each other,

but the cream and the toppings could be a million ways in the kind,

shape and the taste.

Perhaps, reasercher Woo Jun Sung keeps trying to find his cake

in his labatory and even also in front of his piano.

And now let's listen to his suggested music?
